Tea Bowl
The first teacups were made without handles, for it has been said that if the filled cups were too hot to hold, the tea was too hot to drink. Many tea-drinking cultures still prefer handleless cups as part of their tea service. These lovely unglazed porcelain examples from Shang Tea are perfect for small servings, as is typical in Gong Fu–style tea, or for sampling various infusions at events such as tea festivals.
