Since 1888, Hotel del Coronado, or The Del, as it’s also known, has been a premier destination and in 1977 was designated a National Historic Landmark. A Victorian tea is available the last two weeks in December. Friends sharing afternoon tea in this storied hotel may choose from Black Currant, Mandarin Orange, and Darjeeling teas, among others. And they will savor traditional fare featuring finger sandwiches, such as poached egg salad, smoked-salmon mirrors, duck rillete, and pulled citrus-braised ham, along with an assortment of sweets.
