Often referred to as “The Handmade Pottery Capital of the United States,” the tiny town of Seagrove, North Carolina— simply a 15-mile drive from Asheboro—is home to some of the most fabulous and talented potters in the world. A scenic stretch deemed the “North Carolina Pottery Highway” takes visitors and locals alike along miles and miles of studios where they can stop in and see the magic of pottery come to life before their eyes. Among this highest concentration of working potters in the nation exists an extraordinarily tight-knit community of female artists breaking the mold and bringing palpable passion and remarkable teawares to the pottery world.
