Female entrepreneurs cultivating tea culture in North Carolina.
Among the lush landscape of mountains and superb coastal views in the Tar Heel State lies the small town of Asheboro. This special and unassuming municipality just happens to contain three unique tea businesses all within a few blocks of each other. For tea lovers, this quaint town provides a welcome haven in the South.
The tea served in Asheboro might not qualify as “sweet tea” unless added sweetener is your preference, but there is an innate sweetness found in the inspiring stories of the women that strive to bring their community together one cup of tea at a time.
