When I was in my 20’s, I had a lovely neighbor friend who was in her 80’s. She often invited me over for tea and allowed me to “pick my cup” from her extensive collection of bone china. I loved the cups with a pedestal bottom, looking like a frilly dress! The tea ritual was a thing of beauty and introduced me to the grace and tradition of enjoying a cup of tea. We were blessed with 10 years of a marvelous friendship before she passed and so often, a cup of tea was part of our gathering.

What a wonderful gift! And compliments Victoria magazine so well. When I was 4 years old and experiencing the addition of a new baby brother, my special English “Nana” and I would have our Tea Time together with wonderful conversations. I picked out the beautiful cup and saucer I wanted to use and off we went on our regular twosome adventure. I now have those special tea cups and teapots for my own use and will pass them on to the next generation. How lucky I am!
