TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11

Check into the luxurious Plaza hotel in the heart of New York City, where we’ll meet fellow retreat participants and enjoy a welcome afternoon tea in the iconic Palm Court at 3:30 p.m. Following our teatime, we’ll visit Fremin Gallery for an exclusive presentation by artist Robert Strati, whose work incorporates broken china.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 12

Enjoy the morning at your leisure. We’ll check out of The Plaza by noon and depart by private coach en route to The White Hart, the 4-star inn in Salisbury, Connecticut, where the Harney & Sons tea company got its start. We’ll partake of dinner together as a group at the inn and spend one night there.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 13

After having breakfast at the inn, we’ll travel the short distance to the Harney & Sons factory in Millerton, New York, where we’ll enjoy a private guided tour and meet members of the Harney family, who will share the story of how the late patriarch, John Harney, started the business and how his family carries on his legacy. We’ll visit the Harney & Sons shop and café, where we’ll have a luncheon tea and time to peruse the brand’s extensive high-quality offerings before returning to New York City and checking back into The Plaza for a 2-night stay. That evening, we’ll learn about tea cocktails and mocktails in a bespoke master class by certified tea master Jeni Dodd and sommelier Joe Cracco.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14

We’ll spend the day in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights neighborhood exploring lesser-known tea treasures. Curators at Brooklyn Museum will show us many tea things from the archives that are not currently on display. We’ll tap into our creative sides at The Brooklyn Teacup, where we’ll select vintage and antique dishes from their impressive stash to make our own tiered stands. We’ll partake of a full afternoon tea at The Parlour of Brooklyn High Low, which was recently named among the best in New York City by Vogue.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15

We’ll check out by noon and depart for home with a heart full of wonderful teatime memories and new friendships.
