Apple, Hazelnut & Cacao Nib Triple-Stack Tea Sandwiches
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon heavy whipping cream
- 1⁄2 teaspoon honey
- 1⁄4 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1⁄2 cup finely chopped green apple with peel
- 3 tablespoons cacao nibs
- 3 tablespoons coarsely chopped toasted blanched hazelnuts
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped celery
- 1 teaspoon everything bagel seasoning
- 12 slices very thin wheat bread
- In a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese, whipping cream, honey, salt, and pepper with a mixer at medium-high speed until well combined. Using a spoon, stir in apple, cacao nibs, hazelnuts, celery, and seasoning until well incorporated.
- Spread cream cheese mixture onto a bread slice. Top with another bread slice, and spread with cream cheese mixture. Top with a third bread slice to make a triple-stack sandwich. Repeat with remaining bread slices and cream cheese mixture to make a total of 4 whole sandwiches.
- Using a serrated bread knife in a gentle sawing motion, trim and discard crusts from sandwiches. Cut each sandwich into 3 equal rectangles. Serve immediately, or cover with damp paper towels, place in an airtight container, refrigerate, and serve within 2 hours.
